A combination of various geometric shapes stands out the modular seating system Abacus, with frame in solid Canaletta walnut and black chromed or brushed brass end-feet. The main feature of this modular sofa is the versatility, thanks to a wide ease of positioning of the modules.
Abacus has an ergonomic seat thanks to the optional backrests, enriched by the decorative cushions that enhance the aesthetic through the skilful use of leather and removable fabrics.
The bold lines of Abacus are increased by tone-on-tone stitching. Comfort is guaranteed by electro-welded metal mesh and by the presence of traditional goose feather and inserts in Memory Foam. It is also possible to replace the padded armrests with integrated side tables in Canaletta walnut.
Gabriele Buratti, architect and professor of interior architecture at the Design department of Politecnico di Milano and Oscar Buratti, architect, together founded the BURATTI ARCHITETTI studio. The Studio has a multidisciplinary practice, which covers buildings and urban areas, architecture to interiors, furniture and object design, as well as design of exhibitions and showrooms. An intense and varied professional path in which themes, places and typologies, brands and people, materials and craftsmanship, mingle together. Buratti brothers share with Porada the intention of combining culture and professional specialization, experimentation and technique, original visions, and product quality.
“We don’t believe in striking gestures, but in the ability to transfer into the object a broader view of the space, good technique and care of detail.”
