Porada’s iconic wood is the undisputed protagonist of Opium, a swivel armchair characterised by a practical memory return system. Opium armchair is distinguished by its soft and tapered shapes. Created by the designer Bigi, Opium has a single-leg base that supports and slims the entire seat.
The backrest and the slightly curved armrests are designed to harmoniously give a high level of ergonomics, as well as a marked comfort. It is also possible to combine different leathers and fabrics for the frame, for the seat and for the back cushions, which makes Opium armchair extremely versatile and suitable to the widest range of customisation needs.
Born in 1974, Stefano Bigi was raised between France and Italy, two countries where culture and art are timelessly dominant and live eternally. His love for both cultures, inspired him to pursue a study of beauty in all its forms. After studying art in France, followed by a career in web design field, at the age of 31 he couldn’t ignore his real passion anymore: the furniture and objects design. In 2005 he took a leap of faith, moved to Milan and founded the Stefano Bigi Design Studio. The value that distinguishes his design is the ambitious and continuous search for a unique atmosphere, in which furniture is not a constraint but a desire. Over the years his practice grew from strength to strength and for Porada he designed his most famous dining table, the Infinity table.
“In my opinion, Design is an endless and exasperated search for the right balance between aesthetics and comfort, between form and function.”
