The Pileo modern lamp has been designed for Porada by the Sovrappensiero design studio in order to create a piece of furniture that evokes the gentleness of the wood. Inspired by nature, Pileo is characterized by the presence of a large tinplated metal lampshade – in pewter grey, white and glossy black finishes – that reminds of the hat of a mushroom. The stem is represented by the thin and sturdy frame, made of both Canaletta walnut, Porada’s iconic wood, and Ash available in all the collection’s finishes.
The standard version of the power cord is in a bright red colour, but it is also available on request in a black version for both the modern floor lamp and the table version.
The Milan-based Sovrappensiero Design Studio was born in 2007 from the collaboration between Lorenzo De Rosa and Ernesto Iadevaia. They are among the most inspiring emergent designers right now, and over the years they have created design products evoking diverse approaches: modern experimentation, industrial production, artistic design, functionality, art installations, interior design and product design. Sovrappensiero’s style sits at the nexus of street art and contemporary design; they can be found collaborating with the Politecnico di Milano University, Bologna University and NABA.
